Bok

One of the first science fiction stories I read in middle school. We had a really cool librarian that was a SF fan.
This Bok cover grabbed me when I first saw it. I've been reading SF ever since.

Heade

Death For a Doll. Spike Morrelli. The Liesure Library. This is a digest size paperback novel.

ED VALIGURSKY

Now, back to the subject of the blog. Book covers

I copied this painting from Heritage auction. If memory serves me correctly it's the cover from Dickson's THE GENETIC GENERAL. Ace Books.

I love kitties.

Yea. I know this site is all about book covers but it's mine so I'm going to slip other things in occasionally.

Don't you love kittens? :o)

Belarski

Since I seem to be on a Belarski roll here's another. Unfortunately the cover isn't in very good shape.

Cheers!

Crest #173

Little Tramp is a great cover from the age of Good Girl cover art. One of my favorites. Artist credited by Warren is Barye Phillips. This isn't a very good scan. At some point when I get a new scanner I'm going to do a better one.

Quarter Books #24

Passion's Mistress by Luther Gordon. Art by Rodewald. 1949.

Belarski

Here's one from the incomparable Rudolf Belarski.

Deadly Beloved

This title by William Ard was painted by Victor Kalin according to Warren.

Powers

Second posting of the day is a cover by Powers.

Greetings

I've created this Blog with the thoughts of sharing some of the great cover art of the past few decades. I plan on concentrating on those published in the forties thru the sixties.

My hopes are to post at least one or two per day.

I'll be happy to hear any comments on the covers.

I'll start off with an early Harlequin. THE FLESH OF THE ORCHID, by James Hadley Chase.
